"Japanese Anemone"

Good for cutting

Perfect for pots

Loved by pollinators

Less appealing to
slugs and snails

RHS Award of Garden Merit

Packed in peat-free compost

Hardy throughout the UK

Japanese anemones are some of the best plants for the late summer and autumn garden. And Japanese Anemone 'Whirlwind' is one of the best of the best! This is a bright, elegant and beautiful anemone, and in many respects, it is better than arguably the most popular Japanese anemone of them all – 'Honorine Jobert' – in that ‘Whirlwind’ has a double layer of pure white petals. It makes the bloom have a more fluted effect. These flowers are carried on slender stems above a mass of handsome vine-shaped leaves!

One of the most tolerant of this great group of autumn-flowering plants, Anemone × hybrida 'Whirlwind' is ideal for a spot in part shade – it will light up a woodland garden or shaded border. It is also fully hardy, wildlife friendly, and resistant to rabbit attack! Also, the branching stems of flowers are superb for cutting. It’s an indispensable plant that can be left untouched for years.
