Description
Light on its feet and full of quiet movement, Anemone 'Dancing Swan' is a windflower with a particularly graceful sense of theatre. This compact perennial grows to around 50cm tall, forming a neat clump of mid-green leaves that makes it easy to place near the front of a border, along a path or in a softly planted container. From summer onwards, Anemone 'Dancing Swan' produces white single and semi-double flowers, each with a glowing golden yellow centre and a lilac-blue reverse. That coloured backing is its secret flourish, revealed whenever the petals shift in the breeze.
In mixed borders, Anemone 'Dancing Swan' brings freshness, texture and a touch of woodland charm, especially when paired with ferns, grasses, astrantias or dusky late-season perennials. The flowers appear refined but never precious, offering a long-lasting display that feels natural rather than staged. Give Anemone 'Dancing Swan' fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, and it will settle into an elegant rhythm, returning with more confidence each year. Bees appreciate the open centres, while gardeners can enjoy the subtle contrast between crisp white petals and those blue-lilac backs. Compact, distinctive and gently animated, Anemone 'Dancing Swan' is a lovely choice for planting schemes that favour charm over fanfare.

Useful information
-
Soak your Anemone 'Dancing Swan' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Windflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
