Description
Like a welcome ray of spring sunshine after a cold and grey winter, Hippeastrum 'Yellow Star' will brighten up your day and illuminate your home with its soft and gentle hues. Think impactful Amaryllis flowers but in the most delightful soft yellow tones, reminiscent of the petals of wild primroses. The perfectly contrasting fresh apple green throats of the petals enhance its delicate beauty. It is no wonder the unusual cultivar 'Yellow Star' is highly prized among Amaryllis lovers.
Hippeastrum 'Yellow Star' will provide you with welcome colour during the winter months indoors if you pot the bulb up in late autumn. Typically, you’ll need to allow six to eight weeks for the Amaryllis 'Yellow Star' bulb to develop and flower, but do note that flowering time and rate of growth also depends on temperatures. One to two sturdy stems will emerge, each carrying multiple classically shaped trumpet blooms which will provide an impressive display over many weeks. The effect can be enhanced with the use of moss, ivy and other fresh green foliage to create a spring-like display indoors, or you can simply enjoy them as they are in pots and soak up their sunny ambiance.
