Amaryllis 'Orange Souvereign doesn’t require much input from you in order to put on such a fabulous show of huge, orange blooms. Each stem is tall and statuesque and topped with multiple flowers, and each bulb will usually produce two or sometimes three stems which extends the display for weeks. Hippeastrum 'Orange Souvereign' bulbs are tender and need to be potted up and grown in a warm, bright room. Water occasionally and wait for it to launch into action!

Use peat-free multipurpose compost and position the bulb with its pointed end upwards. Leave the neck and upper third of the bulb above the compost.
Place the pot indoors in a warm, bright position away from direct heat. Turn it regularly as the stem grows to keep it straight.
Water lightly after planting, then sparingly until growth appears. Increase watering as the plant develops, keeping the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, but retain the flower stalk until it yellows. Continue watering and feeding while the leaves remain green to replenish the bulb.
