Description
Let it never be said Hippeastrum 'Flamed Amadeus' doesn’t work hard to impress. Its double flower form packs in extra petals, and the unusual two-tone colouring resembles a delicate piece of hand painted china. These large, showy flowers bloom throughout winter and spring, bringing vibrancy and cheer into the home when it is needed the most.
Hippeastrum 'Flamed Amadeus' is a tender bulb unable to survive in temperatures below 1°C, and so in the UK tends to be grown as a houseplant or in a warm conservatory or greenhouse. We recommend planting three per pot to achieve real wow factor. Choose a tight-fitting pot and use good quality potting compost with plenty of grit mixed in. Plant your Amaryllis 'Flamed Amadeus' bulbs so the top third is above soil level, and pop your pot somewhere with bright, filtered light (perhaps set back slightly from a sunny window).
