Choose a sturdy pot with drainage holes, allowing around 3cm between the bulb and the pot’s edge.
'Candy Belle'
syn. Hippeastrum 'Candy Belle'
Amaryllis 'Candy Belle' is an indoor bulb with a soft, confectionery elegance, producing large double flowers in creamy white and pale blush pink. The petals are gently veined and brushed with fine rose-pink markings, giving each bloom the look of watered silk rather than anything too sweet-shop literal. Full, layered and beautifully poised, Amaryllis 'Candy Belle' brings a generous rosette-like form to winter interiors, held on strong green stems above glossy, strap-shaped leaves. There is a lovely freshness to Hippeastrum 'Candy Belle', making it ideal for brightening a windowsill, mantelpiece or sideboard when the garden outside is having a well-earned rest.
Plant Amaryllis 'Candy Belle' in a well-drained pot, leaving the upper part of the bulb exposed, and place it somewhere bright and warm. Water lightly at first, then more regularly once growth begins, taking care not to leave the bulb sitting in wet compost. Its pale pink and white colouring looks especially refined in simple ceramic containers, where the flowers can provide all the decoration required. Long-lasting and wonderfully easy to grow, Hippeastrum 'Candy Belle' is perfect for seasonal displays, thoughtful gifting or simply adding a little graceful drama indoors. Elegant, luminous and gently romantic, it is winter flowering with very good manners.

Use peat-free multipurpose compost and position the bulb with its pointed end upwards. Leave the neck and upper third of the bulb above the compost.
Place the pot indoors in a warm, bright position away from direct heat. Turn it regularly as the stem grows to keep it straight.
Water lightly after planting, then sparingly until growth appears. Increase watering as the plant develops, keeping the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, but retain the flower stalk until it yellows. Continue watering and feeding while the leaves remain green to replenish the bulb.
