Description
Amaryllis belladonna, sometimes called naked ladies because of the bare dark stem that supports the multiple soft pink blooms, is a showy addition to any late summer garden. The stark stems make the collection of bell-like blooms seem to dance above surrounding plants, their pink frilly dance costumes pointing in different directions as though each is taking a different step in the choreographed dance!
While the show goes on, the Amaryllis belladonna sends out a sweet fragrance to fill the summer air around it. These beautiful ladies will add a touch of fun and gaiety to containers and they will love being in a sunny rock garden as it will remind them of their original home in South Africa.
