Description
If you're looking for an easy-to-grow, low-maintenance, attractive, fragrant and long-lasting plant which is a magnet for pollinators, Agastache 'Alabaster' will tick all those boxes! Commonly known as white-flowered Korean mint, this perennial grows into a bushy plant with aromatic leaves—you can catch the fresh, minty fragrance on a warm day or when the leaves are crushed. Each stem of Agastache 'Alabaster' is topped with a cluster of nectar-rich flowers which will bring in the bees and butterflies from midsummer to early autumn.
This Korean mint is a fully hardy, clump forming perennial which grows back every year, bushier and more prolific each time. Growing to around 90cm tall when established, it's perfect for filling out a space in the middle of a sunny border. Agastache rugosa 'Alabaster' is not fussy about conditions and will grow in most soil types as long as it's positioned in full sun. It'll cope well with summer heat and drought as well as winter cold.
Agastache not only attracts butterflies and hummingbirds, but also brings in beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings, which aid in the natural control of garden pests.

Soak your Agastache 'Alabaster' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "White Korean mint" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
