Expect to gasp when incredible Agapanthus 'Fireworks' explodes into a glitzy globe of blooms in summer. White flowers nod on dainty twilight mauve stems, each bloom flaunting a flash of cobalt blue. The huge flowerhead bursts into action starting with the lower buds first, then the upper flower buds popping last. Eventually, the whole flowerhead will be full of dreamily starry open blooms. It’s truly like watching a firework in slow motion—the whole process is beautiful from beginning to end.
Be sure to grow Agapanthus 'Everpanthus® Fireworks' in a sunny spot, because they love summer heat, sheltered winters and quite like dry conditions. As African lilies thrive in a tight space with their roots confined, we recommend starting it in the smallest pot possible, then potting it up when it seems pot bound. This is the best way to get them to establish a little quicker—as soon as their roots feel confined, they have no choice but to start growing luscious leaves and blooms!

Soak your Agapanthus 'Fireworks' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Bi-coloured African lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
