Description

Agapanthus tolerate just about any soil from sand to clay to rough, stony soils, and are incredibly drought tolerant. Agapanthus 'Black Buddhist' is one of the darkest of the dark-blue to purple-black Agapanthus. It is certainly a winner, and the centre of each petal is certainly very near to black. Don’t forget to cut a few blooms for the vase! Agapanthus 'Black Buddhist' makes a superb cut flower that lasts and lasts.

African Lilies, or Nile Lilies, have taken huge strides in recent years. Agapanthus Plant breeders have taken the already-spectacular species types from Africa and have carefully bred them to produce bigger, better, showier and more uniform blooms. But despite their exotic origins and looks, these striking Agapanthus plants are remarkably hardy. Agapanthus tolerate sun or shade, remain evergreen in all but the frostiest gardens, and resprout easily if frost should hurt them during winter.

The foliage of Agapanthus 'Black Buddhist' lasts all year while the flowers bloom from the middle of summer till well into October!
