Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.
Narcissus 'Tête à Tête' is always among the first to announce that spring is on its way, and what a cheerful announcement it makes. This delightful miniature daffodil produces sunny yellow flowers with perfectly proportioned trumpets, held on short, sturdy stems that give the blooms a wonderfully confident appearance. Compact in stature but generous in character, Narcissus 'Tête à Tête' brings a welcome splash of colour when the garden is only just beginning to stir. Its early flowering habit makes it especially precious after the long winter months, while the neat proportions allow those golden blooms to shine without overwhelming their surroundings. Often producing more than one flower per stem, Narcissus 'Tête à Tête' proves that small plants can have quite an impressive presence.
Few spring bulbs are quite as versatile as Narcissus 'Tête à Tête'. Its naturally compact growth makes it a favourite for patio pots, window boxes and doorstep displays, where its cheerful flowers can be enjoyed at close quarters. It is equally charming tucked into rock gardens, scattered through borders or planted in generous groups beneath deciduous shrubs. Combine Narcissus 'Tête à Tête' with blue muscari, delicate crocuses or early flowering primroses for a beautifully fresh spring palette. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this reliable little daffodil offers plenty of garden charm with remarkably little fuss. Bright, dependable and impossible to overlook, Narcissus 'Tête à Tête' is the perfect way to welcome spring back into the garden.

Plant profile
Plant calendar
Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
