Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
If you’ve grown triumph tulips before, you may be surprised to see that Crown Tulips are considered to be part of this group. After all, the gorgeous, crown-shaped blooms really stand out as being distinctively different. We spotte Tulip 'Yellow Crown' at Keukenhof Gardens during our annual visit to choose the best bulb varieties for UK gardeners. We could hardly believe our eyes when we saw these regal blooms there. We monitored their performance throughout the Tulip season, and we’re happy to say they have additional advantages, not least of which the long-lasting nature of their blooms.
However, Tulip 'Yellow Crown' bulbs are extremely rare, and we can’t be sure we’ll have enough for everyone, so be among the first in the UK to have them by reserving your bulbs now.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
