Description
Be bold with colour and roll with what Anemone 'Hollandia' has in store – it’s a vision in poppy-red with a born-to-be-wild attitude. Nothing packs a punch in a planting scheme like a peppering of pure, brilliant red. It’s the kind of red you can coordinate with complementary hot hues or, as it looks best, contrast with similarly free-spirited informal plants of any colour to create a beautifully boisterous meadow effect. Go in for a close look and you’ll see that the silky vermillion petals of Anemone 'Hollandia' are set off with an inner white blotch which highlights a lusciously velvety, deep purple central cone and lash-like anthers.
Long-flowering Anemone 'Hollandia' is worth its weight in gold for gardeners who like to keep the party going with plants which flower in succession. Not only do these red garden anemones produce multiple blooms over the growing season, but they’re available for autumn and spring planting. By planting in both seasons you’ll achieve an extended display in two stints. The blooms are irresistible to pollinators, making this a must-have for the environmentally conscious gardener. One of the De Caen varieties, Anemone coronaria 'Hollandia' is an unfussy and reliable performer. The blooms are at their brightest in sun, but you’ll see a good display in partial shade too.
