Description
Let Plumeria 'Symphony' enchant you with a perfectly-composed ensemble of bright pink and yellow flowers. A punchy fragrance is of course thrown in for tropical bonus points. These colours combined just can’t help but look exotic, and it’s useful to note that these are really exotic. In fact, they originate from Hawaii and are the very same flowers that are used for making leis. Better known as Frangipani, Plumerias grow into small trees in a steamy tropical garden. In a temperate, northern hemisphere climate, they need to be grown in a conservatory or heated greenhouse so they get the year-round warmth they need. Despite their special requirements and the need for a little extra nurturing, you’ll be rewarded with the most incredible, rarely seen flowers which will undoubtedly impress everyone!
Plumeria 'Symphony' is a recently introduced Frangipani cultivar, and it has received considerable praise from the experts. Its summer flowers are incredibly beautiful: large, curled petals are yellow and reddish-pink, in graduating tones from pale-to-deep. Its fragrance is sweet and fruity, and has an almost peach-like quality. This tropical shrub requires a minimum temperature of 10°C during winter but it will enjoy a few months of basking on the patio during the summer—just provide a little shelter from the direct sun.
If you enjoy a challenge and fancy scoring some horticultural brownie points, Plumeria is for you. It's not the easiest plant to grow and has some special requirements. Check our full planting instructions for further info!
