Description
All the excitement and flamboyance of the French Riviera is caught in the colour of the Gladiolus 'Côte d'Azur' which brings with it the feel of the playground of Europe in its almost extravagant blooms. The multiple flowers that are packed tightly onto the long spiked stem vary in colour from a gentle mauve to sky blue, providing a soft but unusual touch to your mixed border or an indoor vase. Emerging from a very pale centre, the petals darken towards the frilly edges, making them shine as though the blooms are alight. One of the taller varieties, Gladiolus 'Côte d'Azur' will grow around 1,4 m (over 5 ft) tall so its fully-packed flower spikes might need staking to prevent them from droopinng!
