Description
Escape winter’s cold grip and bring some warmth and exoticism into your home this winter with sophisticated Hippeastrum 'Terra Mystica'. In wonderfully earthy tones of burnt orange, 'Terra Mystica's bloom brings to mind warm spices, or spectacular sunsets over desert landscapes, particularly with its dramatic throat that intensifies into a smoky paprika tone. The warm hues of exotic-looking Amaryllis varieties like 'Terra Mystica' bring such a cosy feel to the home during winter, and the extravagant, unusual display of blooms on tall stems is one of winter’s greatest treats for any plant lover.
The gently undulating petals of Amaryllis 'Terra Mystica's large trumpet-shaped flowers are delicately edged with a white margin, offsetting its sunset tones perfectly. On its tall stems, Hippeastrum 'Terra Mystica' will produce multiple flowers, and with up to three flowering stems per bulb, it will create an unforgettable spectacle over many weeks. Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) give their best when potted up in a snug-fitting pot in a free-draining compost mix, and placed in bright filtered light they will usually flower eight to ten weeks after planting depending on temperatures—the warmer the position, the quicker they’ll grow. It is also possible to grow these beautiful plants in the garden in summer, as long as they are planted out after the risk of frost has passed.
