Description
Love lilac hues? This tulip’s for you! Adorable Tulip 'Katinka' is not only a pretty colour, but is notable for quite a few other reasons too. The fully double flowers are peony-like, petal-packed and luxurious. They flower quite late in the tulip season, bringing a beautiful fresh burst of cool colour to the garden which lasts into May. A short and stocky habit makes for a mighty strong tulip, this sturdy variety maintains a neat and formal upright habit in most situations, and is well suited to more exposed areas and pots. The lower height also makes Tulip 'Katinka' useful for planting in groups towards the front of a border.
Tulip 'Katinka' unfurls an impressive number of petals through its season, forming a generous-sized bloom in a soothing pink-mauve colour. As the flowers begin to age, they develop a little hint of duskiness which gives them a cool, vintage appearance. With short stems, this variety makes a pretty cut flower for smaller posies or bowl arrangements.
Tulip 'Katinka' has graced us with its presence, as if it were a celestial blessing from above. Featuring ravishing petals in pale pinkish mauve fading into a hue of delicate white, this majestic fragrant bloom is nothing short of a beauty. Its voluptuous structure is unparalleled, looking, at times, almost like an enchanting peony, giving us all the more reason to marvel at its beauty. A lovely flower that will provide you with splendor and joy that will last for weeks!
