Turn your home or conservatory into a tropical paradise with the exotic colour and fragrance of Frangipani! Plumeria 'Divine' is a compact exotic tree which originates from Hawaii, so it really does give you a taste of the tropics. The foliage is lush and the fruity-fragranced whorled flowers form in clusters and provide a punchy pop of pink and yellow. The hotter the temperature, the more intense the colours become. Doesn’t this just remind you of the flowers that are used for making leis? That is because they are the flowers that are used for making leis! Although they’re very rarely seen in non-tropical countries and perhaps a bit too special and in short supply for picking for this purpose.

Plumeria 'Divine' is adapted to a warmer climate and therefore doesn’t like to get cold. It’s one to grow in a pot in the conservatory or other warm, indoor growing space where it’ll receive year-round warmth and temperatures no lower than 10°C in winter. This variety is one of the compact Plumerias, meaning that it tends to grow to around 1-1.2m eventually—ideal where there is limited space.

If you enjoy a challenge and fancy scoring some horticultural brownie points, Plumeria is for you. It's not the easiest plant to grow and has some special requirements. Check our full planting instructions for further info!

  • Wet the compost and sink the cutting into it by roughly 5-10cm but no more than 1/3 of its height. Rooting hormone on the cut end helps but isn’t essential
