An Oriental and Asiatic Lily hybrid, Tree Lilies aren’t trees. They’re just incredibly tall lily plants, reaching heights of anywhere between 1,2 meters (4 feet) and a giant 2,5 meters (8 feet). Their flowers are also giant-sized – large numbers of trumpet-like blooms that can be about 20 cm or 8 inch deep, hanging on sturdy stems that shouldn’t need staking. Tree Lilies bloom outward or downward, so will surround and look down on you while you delight in their fragrance and colour. Tree Lilies giants are like other lilies in their requirements: They need partial or full sunlight for at least six hours a day, and must be planted where drainage is good. Tree Lilies will need water during the growing season, but not enough to make the soil sodden.
