Description
The superb Dahlia ‘Hapet Frambo’ is not often seen for sale, but it will be a stunning addition to any garden. In trials it has stood out from fields of hundreds, due to its impressive, vivid raspberry-pink colouring. A medium-height pompon dahlia, it is well-suited to a point mid-way in a border. The flowers hold up well on their strong stems, even in quite windy conditions. These strong stems also mean that Dahlia ‘Hapet Frambo’ is a very good variety to use for cut flowers. The perky little ball-shaped flowers are perfect for cutting and arranging, and they last a long time in water—the strong stems prevent the blooms from drooping prematurely.
This is a flower that looks good on its own, but really comes alive when matched with contrasting whites and pale pinks. It also looks luxurious when grown with reds and purples, to give a hot border extra oomph!
Pompon dahlias, as their name suggests, have pompon-like flowers—the petals curve inwards to create stunning, intricate blooms up to 5cm across. For best results, grow Dahlia ‘Hapet Frambo’ in a sunny spot in fertile, well-drained soil. Deadhead it regularly, and feed with a potash-rich fertiliser to prolong flowering.
Not only is the Dahlia the national flower of Mexico, but it is also the official flower of the American cities Seattle and San Francisco.

Dahlia 'Hapet Frambo' is half hardy, which means that it should be kept frost free over winter and during spring.
For best results, start your dahlia tubers in temporary pots in a
greenhouse in March or April to grow on to transplant outside later in the season—this will give them a head start.Alternatively, you can plant the Dahlia 'Hapet Frambo' tubers directly outside in May.
Plant with the stump of last year's stem facing upwards. The tuber should be fully submerged but with the stump just below the soil surface.
Plant one tuber per 8-10" pot if growing on during spring. When
planting outside, space the tubers around 30-50cm apart from each other. Compact varieties don’t need so much space.Water-in thoroughly after planting and continue to water regularly once in full growth, but only when the soil appears to be nearly dry.
