Fringed Tulip 'Fabio' is a gorgeous mid-season tulip variety, and it has certainly caught the eye of enthusiasts. It has performed wonderfully well in trials and now gardeners are starting to buy it in their thousands. The dark, orange-red petals of Tulip 'Fabio' have all the frillsthey are tipped with yellow, fringed edges, making for an unusual combination in both colour and form. These flowers, which appear over several weeks in spring, really stand out from the classic mid-green leaves. Their unique shape creates beautiful texture in the garden. It is one the strongest crispaor fringedtulips available.

Tulip 'Fabio' is suitable for beds, borders and excellent for patio containers. It will mix well with contrasting coloursany plant with white or purple flowers particularly. Don’t forget, it is wonderful as a cut flower too; its strong, tall stems are well able to carry the stunning flowers. Tulip 'Fabio' is in the tulip Division 7, known as the Fringed Group.

They grow many exclusive varieties of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and crocuses. It's a family business with a long tradition, growing exclusive spring- and autumn flowering bulbs for generations. The company is named after its founder of the nursery, Jan Pennings. 'De Bilt' is a reference to the typical Dutch farmhouse that housed the company for years. Nowadays, the company is run by Dick van Duin (see photo) and Joost Pennings.
