Description

Beautiful and sophisticated, Amarine 'Tomoko' adds a splash of rich magenta to any autumn garden. The colour, it has to be said, is more vivid and more intense than almost any other autumn flower. The blooms are held aloft, on 60-70cm tall stems — that are a feature in their own right: they vary, depending on the daylight, from battleship grey to a deep purple, and everything in between, and they help set off the strong flower colours beautifully!

Fully hardy, and perennial, Amarines are a fairly recent introduction to the world of gardening. Inter-generic hybrids between Nerine (the Guernsey lily) and Amaryllis (the Belladonna lily), they combine the best aspects of both plants. They bear a strong resemblance to a Nerine, but are frequently bigger, stronger and more resilient, and the blooms are larger, and more lily-like. Not only will × Amarine tubergenii 'Tomoko' (Belladiva Series) shine in the garden, but the tall stems and striking, long-lasting flowers are great to use in indoor arrangements, too.

Gracy knows
"Amarines are hardy, resilient and easy to grow, too, flowering perennially for a rewarding show year after year. What’s more, they make incredible cut flowers too!"
