Description
Like the froth of pink fizz, Gypsophila 'Flamingo' bubbles up through your summer planting schemes each year with a fizzle of effervescent sparkle! The pink edition of the classic Baby’s Breath, you can use this Gypsophila to make cottage gardens even cuter, pastel planting schemes even more airy, or combine it with something more contemporary for contrast. What’s more, as a classic, long-lasting cut flower, this dreamy beauty is right back on trend.
Gypsophila paniculata 'Flamingo' loves a sunny spot in the border but can also be grown in sturdy pots too. When planting in borders, give them space between mixed perennials or foliage plants and once established they’ll fill a gap of 50cm-1m wide with a soft pink haze of tiny blooms from mid to late summer. This fully hardy perennial is low maintenance and fairly drought tolerant too, so you can enjoy it year after year with very little fuss at all!
Gracy says:
"Gypsophila 'Flamingo' will flourish in your garden provided you ensure she gets full sun, well-drained, alkaline soil and is watered well during the flowering season."
Gypsophila is widely used as a filler in floral arrangements due to its airy appearance.

Useful information
-
Soak the Gypsophila 'Flamingo' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Pink baby's breath" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
